Why Reading Marvel Comics?
Its Origins and Modern Times
Marvel
Comics Group, is an American publisher of comic books and related media. Marvel started in 1939 as Timely Publications, and by the early 1950s had generally become known as Atlas Comics. Marvel's modern incarnation dates from 1961, the
year that the company launched The Fantastic Four and other
superhero titles created by Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, Steve Ditko and many others.
Marvel
counts among its characters such
well-known superheroes as Spider-Man, Iron Man, Captain America, Wolverine, Thor, Hulk, Ant-Man, such teams as theAvengers, the Guardians of the Galaxy, the Fantastic Four, the Inhumans and the X-Men, and antagonists such as Doctor Doom, The Enchantress, Green Goblin, Ultron,Doctor Octopus, Thanos, Magneto and Loki. Most of
Marvel's fictional characters operate in a single reality known as the Marvel Universe, with
locations that mirror real-life cities.
Martin Goodman founded
the company later known as Marvel Comics under the name Timely Publications in
1939. In 1961, writer-editor Stan Lee revolutionized superhero comics
by introducing superheroes designed to appeal to more all-ages readers than the
predominantly child audiences of the medium.
Since
the 1940´s, Marvel has published some comics. Its origins comes from World War
II and the representation of Captain America as a national symbol gave hope to
the American people in those times of pain and desperation. Marvel´s popularity
and fans increased and comics´ selling went up as the Company was about to get
betterReading
Marvel Comics is such an amazing way to start a whole new world of
Science-fiction. Since The Walt Disney Corporations announced
a deal to acquire Marvel Comics' parent corporation the Enterprise has flourished
and its rating has amazingly increased. Now, Marvel expanded the Corporation in
the pursuit of giving more opportunities of job. Nothing will replace the act
of buying a comic, it´s very marvelous the way in which people go to the Comic
Stores and they may appreciate the variety of Comics. It was something special.
DC
Comics is also part of this universe of Superheroes but I think Marvel is
better in some aspects. At first, Marvel is a bit more realistic. The fundamental difference in Marvel vs. DC
would be how Marvel characters are more flawed and "less superhuman"
than their DC counterparts. And finally, I think Marvel is more magical and
special as we can see it in Marvel Films.
Marvel is not
Science-fiction at all, it´s a way to represent how a real super-hero would
look like if they were real and the way they´re represented in the movies is
really MARVELOUS. I think we should all read Marvel comics and start learning
new things from this universe, furthermore, they all have really good stories and
the background from which the story was written, World War II, show us the
creativity of writers such as Stan Lee in their old days.
